Tanahun District is a district of  Gandaki Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Damauli, situated in Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 1220 meters to 2134 meters from sea level and its area is 1546 square kilometers. Total population of Tanahun district is 323,288 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 25999.1 hectare  there are 46 villaage development committees that are Phirphire, Raipur, Dhorphirdi, Dulegauda. Thaprek, Khairenitar, Bhanumati, Bhimad, Chhang, Arunodaya, Kihun, Majhkot, Samubhagawatipur, Sundhara. gajarkot, Ranipokihari, Ramjakot, syamgha, Manpang, Jamune, Kotdarbar, Kahunshivpur, Bhirkot, Bedi. Kota, Chipchipe, Devghat, Chimkeshori, Deurali, Dharampani, Abukhaireni, Bandipur, Keshabtar, Pokhari bhanjyang. Ghansikuwa, Barbhanjyang, Bhanu, Purkot, Basantapur, Chokchisapani, Rupakot, Mirlung,Risti,Satiswara. Kayamin, Tanahunsur  and  a Byans Municipality. Main residents of  this district are Magar, Bramhin, Chhetri, Gurung, Newar etc.
