Parsa District is a district of Narayani Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Birganj, located in Central Development Regionof Nepal. It is situated in the height of 122 meters to 925 meters from sea level and its area is 1353 square kilometers. Total population of Parsa district is 601,017 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are business and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 49527 hectare; there are 82 village development committees and a Birgunj Municipality. Main residents of this district are Tharu, Kurmi, Yadav, Kanu, Thakur, Musalman etc.
