Palpa District is a district of  Lumbini Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Tansen, situated in Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 152 meters to 1936 meters from sea level and its area is 1373 square kilometers. Total population of Palpa district is 261,180 as per the census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are jobs, business trade and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 22735 hectare  there are 65 village development committees that  are Gadakot, Bakamalang. Sahalkot, jhirbas, Mittyal, Archale, Jyamire, Shiluwa, Khaliban, Rampur, Darchha, Galdha, Heklang. gejha, tanhu, Devinagar, Birkot, Ringnareha, Jalpa, Bahadurpur, Rahabas, Jhadewa, Gothadi, Humin, Pipaldanda. Phoksingkot, Hunggi, chidipani, rupse, Kasani, Koldanda, Madanpokharea, Pokharathok, Masyam, bondh. Kachal, Baldenggadi, Satyawati, Juthapaua, Phake, Palung, Timure, Kusumkhola, Telgha, Mujhung, Chhahara. Bhuwanpokhari, Somadi, Siddheshor, Khayaha, Deurali, Bodhgumba, Khasueli, Bhairabsthan, Bandipokhara. Bodhpokharathok, Barandi, Argali, Chapan, Khanigaon, Yamgha, Darlamdanda, Khanichhap, Chirtungdhara, Nayarnamtales and a Tansen Municipality. Main residents of this district are Magar, Bramhin, Chhetri, Newar, Kami etc.
