Makwanpur District is a district of  Narayani Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Hetauda, situated in Central Development Regionof Nepal. It is situated in the height of 305 meters to 2743 meters from sea level and its area is 2426 square kilometers. Total population of Makwanpur district is 420,477 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 31740.3 hectare,  there are 43 village development committees that are Raigaon, Dhiyal, Phaparbari, Beteni, Shikharpur. Manthalui, Thingan, Shreepurchhatiwan, Harnamadi, Makawanpurgadi, Hatiya, Sukura. Ipapanchakanya, Aambhanjyang, Budhichaur, Kagate, Sisneri, Kulekhani, Nibuwatar, Bhimphedi, Kulekhani. Markhu, Pakhel, Chitlang, Bajrabarahi, Daman, Palung, Tistung, Agra, Gogane, Namtar, Bhainse, Dandakharka. Bharta, Khairang, Raksirang, Kangkada, Sarikhetpalanse, Basamadi, Manahari, Handikhola, Padampokhari. Churiyamai and  a   Hetauda Municipality. Main residents of this district are Tamang, Bramhin, Chhetri, Newar, Magar etc.
