Gorkha District is a district of  Gandaki Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Gorkha, located in Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 488 meters to 8156 meters from sea level and its area is 3610 square kilometers. Total population of Gorkha district is 271,061 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are agriculture, jobs and business trade. Its agricultural land is 29907.4 hectare  there are 66 village development committees that are Samagaon, Lho, Prok, bihi, Chunchet, Chhekampar, Sirdibas, kerauja. uiea, Ghayachok, Laprak, Gumda, Lapu, Kanshigaon, Manbu, Thumi, Barpak, Kharibot, Ghyalchok, Darbung. Bhumlichok, Tanglichok, makaisin, Phujel, Namjung, Ghairung, Taklung, Manakamana, Bakrang, Deurali. Dhuwakot, Chayling, Gaikhur, Mirkot, Khoplang Palungtar, Aappipal, Chhoprak, Harmi, Nareshor, Bungkot, Borlang. Asrang, Phinam, Taple, Baguwa, Masel, Tandrang, Arupokhari, Pandrung, Masel, Takukot, Shreenathkot, Aruchaunate.  Aru arbang, Thalajung, Jaubari, Kerabari, Muchhok, Hanspur, Simjung, Saurapani, Swara. There is a Municipality in this district which is called Prithivinarayan Municipality. Main tourism heritages in this district are Historical palace, Mount Manaslu and Manakamana Temple. Main residents of this district are Gurung, Bramhin, Chhetri, Magar, Newar etc.
