Dolakha District is a district of  Janakpur Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Charikot, situated in Central Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 762 meters to 7183 meters from sea level and its area is 2191 square kilometers. Total population of Dolakha district is 186,557 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are tourism and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 25287.1 hectare, there are 51 village development committees that are Gaurishankar, Lamabagar, Alampu, Bigu, Chilangkha, Khopachangu, Kalinchok, Babare, Laduk. Bulung, Orang, Lapilang, Lamidanda, Jhayanku, Suri, Chankhu, Marbu, Khare, Shayama, Mali, Jiri, Jubu, Kshetrapa. Sunkhani, Sundrawati, Susmakshamawati, Boch, Lakuridanda, Magapauwa, Namdu, Kavre, Mirge, Thulopatal. Gairimudi, Hawa, Bhusaphedi, Dudhpokhari, Katakuti, Phasku, Bhirkot, Jhule, Pawati, Sailungeshori, Dhyangsukathor. Japhe, Bhedpu, Chayama, Malu, Sahare, Melung, Dandakharka and a Bhimeshor Municipality. Main tourism heritages in this district are Bhimsen Chho Rolpa Lake, Panch Pokhari and Kalinchok Bhagawati. Main residents of this district are Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Tham, Newari etc.
