Darchula District is a district of  Mahakali Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Darchula, located in far western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 518 meters to 7134 meters from sea level and its area is 2322 square kilometers. Total population of Drachula district is 133,274 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 13,658.7 hectare, there are 41 village development committees that are Byas, Rapla, Dhunsa, Khandeshwori, Sunsera, Sitaula, Gulzar, Tapoban, Latinath, Sheri, Shikhar, Sipti, Iyearkot, Hikila, Dhaulakot, Huti, Pipalchaur, Brahmadev, Gharichhapari, Katai, Khar, Khalanga, Dhap, Dhuligada, Dethala, Ranisikhar, Gokuleshwor, Boharigaon, Gwani, Malikaarjun, Bhagawati, Dattu, Shankarpur, Uku, Hunainath, Dandakot, Kharkada, Rittha Chaupata, Lali, Sharmauli,  there is a Municipality in this district. Main residents of this district are are Chhetri, Bramhin, Thakuri, kami/lohar etc.
