Morang District is a district of Koshi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Biratnagar, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 140 meters to 2409 meters from sea level and its area is 1855 square kilometers. Total population of Morang district is 965,370 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are business, industries, agriculture. Katahari, Rangeli, Aamgachi, Dainia, Bardaga, Jhurkia, Mahadeva, Sijunwa, Govindapur, Takuwa, Amardaha, Itahara. Amardaha, Hasandaha , Keraun, Bahuni, Dangihat , Sanischare and a sub metropolitan city Biratnagar Nepal. Main residents of this district are Bramhin, Chhetri, Tharu, Musalman, Rai etc.
