Khotang District is a district of Sagarmatha Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Diktel, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It situated in the height of 152 meters to 3620 meters from sea level and covers 1591 square kilometers. Total population of Khotang district is 206,312 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in Khotang district are agriculture, jobs and business trade. Its agricultural land is 30732 hectare; there are 76 Village development committees these are Sungdel, Phedi, ratamcha, Banspani, Baksila, Rakh Dipsung, Rakhabangdel, Bakachol, Aiselu kharaka. Yamkha, Teema, Chhitapokhari, Dandagaon, Chhorambu, Sapteshwor, Batase, sChipring, Waplukha, Indrenipokhari. Simpani, Lichki ramche, Khotangbazar, Badkadiyale, Sawakatahare, Likuwapokhari, Dammarkhu sivalaya. Chisapani, Kaule, Diplung, Barahapokhari, Mauwabote, Bopung, Devisthan, Pauwasera, Saunechour, Phaktang, Suntale. There is a diktel Municipality in this district. Main residents of this district are Rai, Bramhin, Chhetri, Kami, Newar etc.
