Lalitpur District is a district of  Bagmati  Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Patan, situated in Central Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 457 meters to 2831 meters from sea level and its area is 385 square kilo meters. Total population of Lalitpur district is 468,132 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are agriculture, hospitality, business and service. Its agricultural land is 9336.5 hectare,  there are 41 village development committees that are Thula Durlung, Chandanpur, Gimdi, Aashrang, Kaleshor, Bukhel, Ikudol, Puetar, Shankhu, Bhattedanda. Malta, Gotikhel, Manikhel, Chaughare, Dalchauki, Ghusel, Nallu, Bhardev, Lele, Devichaur, Dukuchhap. Chhampi, Chhapagaon, Badikhel, Godawari, Bisankhunarayan, Lamatar, Godamchaur, Luvu, Thaib, Siddhipur. Tikathali, Harisiddhi, Dhapakhel, Thecho, Bungmati,Sunakothi, Khokana, Saibubahinsepati, Imadole and a Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan city. Main residents of this district are Newar, Bramhin, Chhetri, Magar, Tamang etc.
