Bhaktapur District is a district of  Bagmati Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Bhaktapur, Located in Central Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 1372 meters to 2166 meters from sea level and its area is 119 square kilo meters. Total population of Bhaktapur district is 304,651 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are tourism, trade, business and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 5540 hectare; there are 16 village development committees that are Gundu, Dadhikot, Sirutar, Balkot, Katunje, Sipadole, Nangkhel. Chittapol, Tathali, Sudal, Bageshori, Nagarkot, Chhaling, Changunarayan, Jhaulhel, Duwakot. There are two Municipalities that are Madhyapur thimi and Bhaktaapur Municipality. This district is popular for historical and archaeological importance, mant tourist visit this city each year. Main residents of this district are Newar, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Magar etc.
