Udayapur District is a district of Sagarmatha Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Gaighat, situated in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 360meters to 2310 meters from sea level, covers 2063 square kilometers. Total population of Udayapur district is 317,532 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 30065.3 hectare, there are 44 village development committees these are Lekhani, Mayankhu, Sorung, Hardeni, Sirise. Limphatar, Okhle, Tawashree, Lekhgaon, Barai, Nametar, Bhutar, Laphagaon, Jante, Iname, Balamta, Baraha. Tamlichha, Rupatar, Thanagaon, Bansbote, Pokhari, Aaptar, Triveni, Katari, Risku, Panchawati, Dumre, Rauta. Bhalayadanda, Jalapa, Khanbu, Saune, Jogidaha, Hadiya, Siddhipur, Chaudandi, Belter, Basaha, Sundarpur. Tapeshwori, Thoksila, Mainamaini, Katunje babala. There 2 are  Municipality in this district that is Triyuga and Beltar Basaha Municipality.  Main residents of this district are Bramhin, Chhetri, Tamang, Rai Magar, Tharu etc.
