Taplejung District Nepal
Taplejung District is a district of Mechi Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Taplejung, located in Eastern Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 777 meters to 8598 meters from sea level and covers an area 3646 square kilometers. Total population of Taplejung district is 127,461 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 21998 hectare,  there are 50 village development committees that are Lalep, Olangchunggola, Papung, Tapethok , Yamphudin, Ikhabu, Nalbu, Sawa, Khejenim, Limkhim, Phurumbu, Phawakhola, Sikecha, Ambegudin , Mamangkhe, Khewang, Surumkhim, Kalikhola, Sadewa, Angkhop, Sablakhu, Limbudin, Mehele, Pedang, Teelok, Dumrise, Chaksibote, Thechambu, Sinam , Tirenge, Thumbedin, Namkhol Yang, Dokhu, Phulbari, Niguradin, Hangpang, Phungling, Hangdewa, Sawadin , Liwang, Thukimba, Thinglabu, Lingtep, Khamlung, Khoklin, Santhakra, Phakumba, Sanghu, Dhungesanghu, Change. There is a Phungling Municipality in this district. Main residents of this district are Limbu, Bramhin, Chhetri, Sherpa and Rai etc. Highlight of this district is the world third highest peak Mt. Kanchenjunga 8598 meters.
