Sarlahi District is a district of Janakpur Zone administrative headquarters of this district is Malangwa, situated in Central Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 62 meters to 659 meters from sea level and its area is 1259 square kilometers. Total population of Sarlahi district is 769,729 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district are business trade, jobs and agriculture. Its agricultural land is 79696 hectare; there are 99 village development committees and a Malangawa Municipality. Main residents of Sarlahi district are Yadav, Koiri, Teli, Tamang, Musalman etc.
