Pyuthan District is a district of  Rapti Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Pyuthan, situated in Mid Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 305 meters to 3659 meters from sea level and its area is 1309 square kilometers. Total population of Pyuthan district is 228,102 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 20973.5 hectare,  there are 49 village development committees that are Bangesal, Dhungegadi, Haspur, Dangbang, Baraula,Pakala, Bijuli, Dhuwang, Markawang, tiram,Sworgadwari, Kochibang, udayapur kot,gothibang, vigri, Sari, Belbas,Barjibang, Nayagaon, Ramdi, Dakhakabadi, Khaira, Raspukot, Dharampani, BijayaNagar, Khalanga, Chuja,Jumrikanda, majhkot, bijuwar, Dharmawati, Phopli, Maranthana, Torbang, okharkot, Bangemarot, Badikot, Tusara, Lung, Liwang, Narikot, Khung, Puja, Arkha, Rajbar, Khawang, Sauliwang, ligha, Damri. There is not any Municipality in Pyuthan district. Main residents of this district are Magar, Bramhin, Chhetri, Kami, Sarki etc.
