Kapilvastu District is a district of  Lumbini Zone, administrative headquarters of Kapilvastu district is Taulihawa, located in Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 100 meters to 290 meters from sea level and its area is 1738 square kilometers. Total population of Kapilbastu district is 571,936 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in Kapilbastu district is agriculture. Jawabhari, Bahadurgunj, Purushottampur, Shivanagar, Krishnanagar, Shinshirhawa, Bidhyanagar, Ramnagar, Bhagawanpur. Ganeshpur, Khuruhuria, Patthardehia. There is a Municipality in this district that is Kapilbastu Municipality. Main residents of this district are Tharu, Bramhin, Yadav, Kurmi, Musalman etc.
