Banke District is a district of  Bheri Zone, administrative headquarters of this district is Nepalganj, located in Mid-Western Development Region of Nepal. It is situated in the height of 129 meters to 1290 meters from sea level and its area is 2337 square kilometers. Total population of Banke district is 491,313 according to census 2068 B.S. (2011 A.D.). Main profession of the residents in this district is agriculture. Its agricultural land is 44238 hectare there are 46 village development committees that are Chisapani, Naubasta, Rajhena, Bankatawa, titihiriya, Raniyapur, Sonapur, Shamsergunj, Udarpur, Bageshori, Khujurakhurd, Sitapur, Radhapur, Saigaon, belvar, Paraspur, Jaispur, Indrapur, Belahari, Khaskarkando, Basudevpur, Bhawanipur, Uadyapur, piparharwa, Hirminiya, Purena, Purain, Bankatti, bethani, Kamdi, Ganapur, Manikapur, Kohalpur, Mahadevpuri, Kachanapur, Khaskusma, Kathkuiya, Baijapur, Binauna, Phattepur, Holia, Gangapur, Matehia, Narainapur, Kalaphant, Laxmanpur and  a Nepalgunj Municipality. Main Main residents of this district are Musalman, Bramhin, Chhetri, Tharu, Magar etc.
